Sid was mated younger than usual after we tragically lost his sire Gibson. His first litter from MinaWylie was most impressive and he’s also been mated to Mina’s sister FloMcKenzie, pups due Nov. 20.

Sid was one of those pups that’s a pleasure to have around. He never annoyed me by trashing the garden or being disobedient(probably because Emma reared the pups up  north after Sunny became ill). When he was old enough to start on sheep he looked promising but not a world beater, but when Em took him back home and put him out on cattle he just slotted into work calmly and got on with it. He had funny toes on his back feet at the time so wasn’t able to be sold…I think that was the result of me trying to get him to jump into a raised kennel!

We were anxious to keep the Gibson line as his few pups were outstanding and Sid is the only dog we own by him. Luckily we have access to two other young dogs by Gibson belonging to Wayne Lucas; Wayne is doing a lot of sheep work out west and is impressed by their nice natural, sensible work on big mobs.

Sid’s a tall dog, his dam Sunny was a big bitch like many of the Cagella line.
